Designed for people who have no experience of agriculture, but would however like a career in agriculture, this programme gives an overview of what a career would involve and provides real-life practical skills.
Tailored to the individual requirements of the group, the Fresh Start Academy will give you a range of hands-on experiences and includes a number of visits and talks by industry professionals. As well as benefiting from their guidance, these visits and talks will also help you to build an invaluable network of contacts for onward use in your later career.

  Career paths, opportunities and training
• Practical Session 1: Sheep
  Sheep handling and nutrition, lambing, stock task and management
• Practical Session 2: Dairy and Beef
  Milking, cattle handling, nutrition, systems and pasture management.
• It's not all about owning a farm
  Other career options in agriculture
• Practical Session 3: Fruit
  Fruit management, establishment, marketing and storage
